Fighting Tiger Troops
The Fighting Tigers make extensive use of well-equipped, frequently mobile Troop units. Troops are optimized (as much as possible) for either assault or defense.

Tigers of Rudra see "Tactical Squad" in Codex: Space Marines
Fighting Tiger Tactical Marines dedicate themselves to Rudra, the Vedic god of battle. All Tigers of Rudra are male and usually act either in assault or defensive mode. In assault mode, Tigers of Rudra deploy in 10-strong squads and take advantage of their propensity to Cleanse and Purify (see page 43 of Codex: Space Marines). Two troopers will use special weapons, often two flamers or one flamer and one meltagun or plasma gun. All others use bolters. These squads are almost always mounted in a transport (a Rhino or Land Raider).

In defensive mode, Tigers of Rudra deploy in 5-strong squads, usually with one trooper using a special weapon (typically a plasma gun, for range), one trooper using a heavy weapon (usually a missile launcher, for its versatility), and the others using bolters. Often, these squads will be supported by a Razorback.

Rarely, Tigers of Rudra operate in what is called standard mode, similar to Tactical squad configurations found in other Space Marine chapters. Usually this takes the form of a 10-man squad mounted in a Rhino and equipped with a heavy weapon.

Codex Astartes Chapters such as the Ultramarines use Assault Marines to crew Land Speeders and Land Speeder Tornadoes/Typhoons, but within the Fighting Tigers, the Tigers of Rudra perform this role.

Tigers of Puchan see "Scout Squad" in Codex: Space Marines
Fighting Tiger Scouts venerate Puchan, the Vedic god of guides, who shows the new recruits the way to become Space Marines. Once Scouts join another sabha, they devote themselves to that association’s deity. Tigers of Puchan squads are either all-male or all-female. Males use bolters or sniper rifles to prepare themselves before joining the Tigers of Rudra or Agni; females use close combat weapons exclusively to prepare themselves before joining the Tigers of Kali.

By tradition, Tigers of Puchan deploy in 10-strong squads.

“Go anywhere, fight anyone”—unofficial Fighting Tigers motto
The Fighting Tigers of Veda are charged with guarding many star systems lying due east of the Maelstrom, a dangerous area similar to the Eye of Terror. The Fighting Tigers mostly fight against the Orks, Dark Eldar, and Chaos Space Marines that infest the Maelstrom, but the Tigers have on occasion been called to other areas to battle Craftworld Eldar, Rebel Guard, Genestealer Cults, and Tyranids.

Fighting Tigers have also clashed with Imperial forces a number of times. The most famous example was the Kyrniov Conflict. Offended that the Fighting Tigers were using female Space Marines, Confessor Kyrniov, supported by the Adepta Sororitas, led a brief, disastrous campaign to destroy the Tigers of Kali. After capturing Kyrniov, the Rajas negotiated a truce with him, but emnity between the Sisters of Battle and the Fighting Tigers remains.

In addition, the Fighting Tigers have only one Space Marine ally, the Space Wolves, who helped train the new Fighting Tiger recruits (including the first Tigers of Kali) after the heavy losses against the Warband Bloodcomet. Believing the Ultramarines to be arrogant, the Blood Angels to be damned to Chaos, and the Dark Angels to be perfidious, the Fighting Tigers have nothing to do with any of them.
