The Angel Hunters

says: "I’ve played Dark Angels for years and have been quite happy with
their background and selection of models and units. However, I was beginning
to look for something different and happened upon Codex: Armageddon.
I was really impressed by the Black Templars army list. I toyed around
with the idea of starting a Black Templars army, but couldn’t bring myself
to shelving my beloved Dark Angels.
"Then I
had an idea. In Codex: Dark Angels, it stressed that the driving
force behind the Dark Angels was their hunt for the Fallen. I really don’t
believe that the Dark Angels Chapter would have the resources to send entire
Space Marine companies roaming around the galaxy hunting the Fallen. A
faster and more mobile force would be needed to pursue every lead and rumor
of a Fallen’s location. So the Angel Hunters were created.
"Essentially,
this is an army in disguise. Dark Angels models are used in conjunction
with Codex: Armageddon. The Angel Hunters are tournament-legal,
as no rules have been added, only restrictions to the current army list."

Background
In the aftermath of the fall of
Caliban, the senior members of the Chapter assembled and decreed that the
hunt for the Fallen was a quest that they could never relinquish. They
secretly gathered their ten most loyal warriors and bestowed on them the
title of Master of the Hunt. The Angel Hunters were charged with pursuing
every clue and rumor of the Fallen and bringing these traitors back to
the Rock so they may be made to repent for their sins.
Philosophy
Unlike the
normally patient Dark Angels, the Angel Hunters are equipped to strike
hard, fast and without mercy. Nothing will stand in their way in bringing
one of the Fallen to justice.
HQ
One Master of the Hunt (Emperor’s
Champion, see Codex: Armageddon).
One Interrogator- Chaplain (Chaplain, see Codex:
Armageddon). No other Headquarters units may be used.
Elites
Tactical Terminator Squad; Dreadnought
(See Codex: Armageddon).
Troops
As per Codex:
Armageddon with the exceptions that no Neophytes (Scouts)
may be used and the only transport option is a Rhino.
Fast Attack
Assault Squad,
Land Speeder Squadron, Land Speeder Typhoon (See Codex: Armageddon).
Heavy Support
None.
Modeling and Painting
Normal Dark
Angel colors.
General Tactics
Generally,
Angel Hunters prefer to be the attackers. If they are forced to be in a
defensive situation, it is only a ruse to ambush a member of the Fallen
or someone with information vital to them. Hit the enemy hard and fast,
and avoid unnecessary casualties.
Optional Rules
Angel Hunter
armies may only take the Accept Any Challenge, No Matter The Odds
vow (see Codex: Armageddon).
The Angel Hunters
are a light strike force; the only vehicles that may be used are Rhinos
(slung under their Thunderhawks) and Land Speeders. This will allow them
to Deep Strike with minimum force reduction.
The Angel Hunters
will always Deep Strike if allowed by the scenario.
