Allies and Enemies of the Fighting Tigers

Sho-T BigHed's Blood Axe army
Patrick Eibel is my best friend and has been my primary 40K opponent over the years. He and I play about once a month or so and usually split victories. Pat began playing 40K when I did, in 1987, and has had several armies in the past.

Currently, Pat has a Space Wolf army, a Speed Freek army, and a  "regular" Ork army (described below), which he used in the Blood Deserts of Auros IX Campaign.

Patrick Eibel

Back in 2nd Edition, this army was a mixture of Goffs, Blood Axes, and Evil Sunz (with a few Snakebites and Deathskulls) led by Ghazghull Thraka, with Sho-T BigHed as one of his underlings. When 3rd Edition came around, Pat decided to make the bulk of the army Blood Axes and put Sho-T in charge. In typical Blood Axe fashion, most of them wear uniforms taken from Imperial Guardsmen: Sho-T's reasoning is that "den we can sneek up on dem cuz dey won' notice we'z Orks."

Pat's mobs usually number between 12-15 Boyz; he usually takes a Nob with 'eavy armor, a shoota and a power claw or choppa to lead each mob that can have one. Gretchin number 30 to a mob.

Pat, by the way, has been playing Orks since First Edition, back when Orks were definitely more humorous than they are now: hence the funny names

Strengths
This army has a LOT of figures, can cover a lot of the board, and can take an enormous amount of casualties. I've found (the hard way) that the toughest, most effective units in this army are Sho-T's bodyguard, the Kommandos, the Stikk Bommas, the 'Ard Boyz, and "R2Ork2." Pat has geared his army for fighting Space Marines: his mobz pack plenty of burnas for taking out vehicles and carving through power armor. Pat also believes in lots of big shootas: after all, if you make your opponent roll enough dice, eventually he'll fail an armor save.

Weaknesses
Not many anymore! When he first started this army, parts of it were so fast that sometimes they got too far ahead of the main force and were easily destroyed. Pat has been working on balancing his mix of fast and slow units and better coordinating his attacks.

Best Moment vs. Fighting Tigers
Orks swamp Tigers in a Cleanse mission during the Blood Deserts of Auros IX Campaign and easily massacre the Marines in hand-to-hand combat.

Worst Moment vs. Fighting Tigers
Sho-T and his slow-moving main army are caught in an Ambush and suffer terrible casualties from Marine Tactical and Devastator Squads.
