Fall From Grace
IV: Wrap-up
And that was FFG IV! I got to hang
out with some old gaming buddies, met some cool new people, and had a great
time. As an added bonus, I even played well. My Fighting Tigers went 2-1-1,
my Ozone Scorpions (usually mediocre at best) went 2-1, and I won the
last game of the campaign Eye of Terror:
From the Jungle to the Gate. I’m tracking wins, losses, and ties
now on El Tigre’s Scorecard, by the
way.
In
between games, I bought a lot of neat stuff from Borderlands for myself
and my kids (in particular, they love the Justice League comic book I got
for them). Every night after gaming, my pals and I hung out at Bailey’s
Sports Grille, where the food is tasty, there was plenty of football and
baseball to watch, and the girls are prettier than the Hooters next door.
The next morning, we’d get up, raid the local Burger King for chicken biscuits
(“chikenbizkit!”), which we Yankees can’t get up North and couldn’t get
enough of while we were down South. Then we’d head back to Borderlands
for more gaming. Ah, if only life could be like that all the time….
Traveling to Greenville and back
to my home in Maryland isn’t easy, but it’s well worth the trip, and I’m
already looking forward to next year, when I hope to try out a Scout-heavy
list (all part of 2004’s “Fighting Tiger Recruitment Drive”). And, of course,
I’ll have my Dark Eldar along. If you get the chance to go to the next
Fall From Grace, do it. I guarantee you’ll enjoy yourself.
