The best place to start is the Codex. The Codex is (more or less) written in the same sort of style as the GW codices. It tells the story of the Fighting Tigers, describes their distinctive paint schema, and introduces some of the characters in my army. Unlike other “homemade” codices you may have seen on the Internet, Codex: Fighting Tigers of Veda avoids “special rules,” stressing stylistic approaches to creating interesting armies. The Tactics section describes each unit in my Fighting Tiger army, what each unit is equipped with, and how I use them. Included are lots of examples, suggestions, and advice—usually learned “the hard way”—on playing Space Marines. Some of what you find may also be applicable to other armies. The Gallery section is where I post photos of my models and discuss how—and why—I created the more unusual pieces. I started collecting my army back in 1987, so I have a lot of out-of-production miniatures and conversions that you might find interesting and inspiring. Rounding out the Fighting Tigers portion of the Jungle are Allies and Enemies and Tales of the Tigers. I took actual games I’ve played and used them as the basis for the Tigers’ history: "A&E" offers short descriptions of friends and foes that have fought alongside or against the Tigers. "Tales of the Tigers" are 40K short stories that delve deeply into the milieu of Veda and its characters. While I hope that you will find the Fighting Tigers fascinating, I realize that you probably want more—much more—than that from a 40K website. Hence the “Other Pages” portion of the site. Here you’ll find Themed Army Ideas that offer suggestions and tips on creating distinctive, customized armies. The Tiger Roars section offers commentary by myself and others on the 40K game. Campaigns provides scenarios and rules for long-term play. Events and Battle Reports depicts games I’ve played and what I’ve learned from them—avoid my mistakes! Terrain offers suggestions on scenery, including lots of examples requiring little time or money to make. What’s New keeps you informed on the latest happenings in the Jungle, the Site Index is organized by subject and is always kept current, and Beyond the Jungle offers scores of other 40K sites to visit.

What’s
so special about the Jungle?
Secondly, the Jungle offers lots of innovative but practical ideas. What do I mean by “innovative but practical?” That is, ideas that stay within the current rules (and thus do not require your opponent’s permission) that you can use in actual games (to varying degrees of success). “Special rules” are kept to a minimum. After all, what good is a brilliant idea that no one can benefit from? Thirdly, the Jungle presents in-depth discussion about 40K. Warhammer 40,000 offers lots of opportunities for discussion, but many websites fail to post anything other than cursory analysis or facile observations. Not so, here. Lastly, the Jungle is regularly updated at the beginning of each month. In fact, I usually have new material up a day or two before the “official” release date. How

I haven’t yet (knock on wood) been plagiarized online, but I can assure you that if I ever discover such a thing, I will employ every means necessary (including lawsuits) to protect my rights. Copyright laws are valid on the Internet, too. How
long has the Jungle been around?
Why
isn’t there a forum at the Jungle?
The second reason is that there are plenty of other great forums out there, and at best, I could only duplicate—but not improve on—what they already do. So why bother? What
are these "Visitors' Favorites" mentioned on the main page?
