Countdown to Counter Offensive 2: Tyranids (1979 points) by Patrick Eibel
I have recently come into possession of quite a large Tyranid army. Originally, I was going to try and sell it to fund other projects, but I must admit that it is just too tempting not to keep. I will use the weekend to gauge how much I really like the army. 

• Hive Tyrant w/ venom cannon, toxin sacs, adrenal glands (WS), lash whip & bonesword, implant attacks, symbiote rippers (160 points)
• Two Tyrant Guard (90 points)
• Two Lictors (160 points)
• Carnifex w/ adrenal glands, bio-plasma, scything talons (2x) (113 points)
• Carnifex as above
• Twelve Genestealers w/ extended carapace (240 points)
• Twelve Genestealers as above
• Twelve Genestealers as above
• Twelve Genestealers as above
• Twelve Hormagaunts (120 points)
• 2 Zoanthropes w/ Warp Blast (110 points)
• Carnifex w/ enhanced senses, venom cannon, barbed strangler (153 points)

The list represents most of the figures that were given to me in the army. Some choices may seem curious, like why I have taken two cheap assault Carnifexes as Elite units. Wherever possible, I tried to use the figures as I got them, so that meant not making changes to the two old Screamer-Killer style Carnifexes I received. I did add one (and potentially two) shooty-oriented Carnifex, as well as two Zoanthropes. I will be curious to see how well this army fares, especially against gun-heavy armies like Space Marines and Imperial Guard.
