A Thousand Points
of Light: Space Wolves by
Patrick Eibel
Long-time
visitors to the Jungle might know about my
Ork armies, but I've also played Space
Wolves since the earliest days of Second Edition. In my totally
unbiased opinion, they're the only Marine chapter worth playing!!!

Remember, this
list--like all the others in this series--is meant for brand new players
or for players looking to start a new army. This list is not meant to be
a "killer" list for winning tournaments or trouncing people at the local
gaming shop. Rather, it is a foundation that players can build upon as
they desire.

1000 point list
Use the Blood
Claws for your Grey Hunters (the Blood Claw box comes with assault weapons,
but is otherwise the same as the Grey Hunter box) and use the accessory
sprue to create characters with pelts and power weapons. You may need to
get a regular Space marine accessory sprue (around $1.00) to get a flamer,
or if you are lucky you can trade with someone.

Space Wolf Tactics
In a skirmish,
the Battle Leader will join the Blood Claws in their Rhino while the other
Wolf Guard joins the Grey Hunters in theirs. Both Rhinos will move full
speed toward the enemy while the Venerable Dreadnought and the Predator
provide fire support. The Dread is ideal for taking out light vehicles
and infantry, while the Predator can deal with enemy tanks.
The Wolf Scouts
should arrive at the rear of the enemy just as the Grey Hunters and Blood
Claws charge. At that point, it's time to crank up Led Zeppelin's “The
Immigrant Song” and wade into hand-to-hand combat with the enemy. “Valhalla,
I am coming!”
