A Thousand Points of Light: Orks by Patrick Eibel
Nothing beats the sheer brutality of a horde of Orks. To field as many models as possible, I have sacrificed mobility. Again, the following list is a suggested starting point for a well-balanced army. It's meant for brand new players or for players looking to start a new army. This list is not meant to be a "killer" list for winning tournaments or trouncing people at the local gaming shop. Rather, it is a foundation that players can build upon as they desire.

1000 point list
Use the Tankbusta Boyz for Kommandos (unless you happen to have some of the out-of-print miniatures from the 2nd Edition days) along with the “assault” Nob (slugga/choppa) and one of the Big Shoota Boyz. The other three big shootas will join the “shooty” Nob (the one with the really big gun) and 1 box of Boyz to form the Shoota Boy Mob. The Warboss can join any mob, or float between mobs as needed. The Killer Kans may be armed with big shootas or skorchas for the same points, so feel free to swap (although I would not recommend skorchas with such a slow army).
